for a reply, merely told me to contact their billing ****. I also documented the above & sent to their customer sv team who after waiting 1 mo. I also called & left msgs for their patient advocate team & never received any calls back. Dr *** repeatedly sent correct codes to Quest to rebill ******** & I called billing numerous times & was told theyd annotate their system. In each case I never signed any ABN, was told by lab tech during blood draw that the tests were covered therefore I did not need to sign an **************************** billing **** even confirmed they had no signed ABN on file. ******** requires a patient sign an ABN (advance beneficiary notice) in order to collect Pymt for non ******** covered svs. Ive been sent to collections TWICE after spending 12 mos (each time) trying to get their billing **** to correct their billing. Quest has repeatedly violated ******** law. Quest better be doing an internal investigation very very very quickly. Someone has lied to cover their mistake at my medical expense. I will be contacting my state representative to make a complaint because this is shady medical practice. I don't know if Quest thinks this is a game, but I can assure you I don't think this is a game. Now I get an email 6/13 saying that the results are in.How? If the lab hadn't started running them on 6/9 and there is a 15 day turn around and the blood sample wasn't viable how in the world did they magically get my results on 6/13. I asked if the blood sample taken 5/17 would even be viable and was told no. Then the doctors office calls me 6/13 and tells me that the lab never contacted them. I had blood drawn on 5/17 I called the customer ********************** line 6/9 and was told that the lab had sent the provider a message and the provider took so long to get back to them that they had not run the test yet and it would be a 15 day turn around for results. I would like the $3.00 credit applied to the balance due of $2.65 and then they can issue a refund check to the patient for the additional $.35 (cents) due to the patient! At this point, patient has spent WAY too much time on this for such a small amount & if quest overcharges all of their patients $3.00, one can only imagine how much money they've stolen! Are audits not done for these providers?! Ironic that Quest refused to send a check for $3.00 because it was too small of an amount, but expects the patient to send a check for $2.65. Patient faxed all original backup along with a new cover letter explaining in detail the original issue leaving a credit balance of $3.00 along with the new bill showing the $2.65 due. ************ claims there was nothing in the file noting that there should be a credit. Patient called Quest on 6/6/23, spoke to ************ and explained that $3.00 credit should be applied. Quest sent invoice requesting payment of $2.65. All backup information was faxed to Quest on 1/20/23. Quest stated that they would NOT issue a refund check for $3.00 but patient can apply $3.00 credit to their next bill. Patient paid $21.62 but on 1/20/23 patient called, spoke to ****** at Quest & explained that patient overpaid $3.00. Quest Charged $137.24 & applied a discount of $112.62 but insurance company negotiated $115.62 discount.
